Sony Vision S — First Electric Car by Sony.

Sony Vision S

Sony Vision S:

You must have found out about Apple electric cars, Google electric cars, and Samsung electric cars after the Samsung–Renault partnership in South Korea. However, I haven’t heard any rumors about a Sony electric vehicle. Sony just divulged an electric vehicle idea at CES 2020 that has shocked the whole world.

The Sony Vision-S looks like a decent, full-size, premium-class sedan. Be that as it may, specs and details are light so far — as in, there aren’t any. There’s a touch of a desire that Sony isn’t really intending to create the vehicle, or any electric cars, and is just using this as an approach to sell auto products/supplies to automakers. Yet, I viewed the presentation, and it sure seems like the president of Sony, Kenichiro Yoshida, is looking at creating entire electric cars. It sure seems like he’s saying Sony will deliver the Vision-S. We’ll see.

Aside from showcasing the vehicle’s all encompassing theater setup (reminiscent of what you find in NIO vehicles), immersive sound system, and extensive camera setup, Yoshida presents a list of huge name partners, with an additional special thanks to Magna Steyr (which is most likely the organization that really built up the vehicle, with a touch of direction). Different partners incorporate Benteler, Blackberry, Bosch, Continental, Elektrobit, Genetex, Nvidia, Qualcomm, and ZF Friedrichshafen.

Sony Vision S,

There’s no uncertainty about it: the vehicle is lovely, and Sony would be a fascinating expansion to the electric vehicle showcase, one that could truly shake things up. Yoshida didn’t make reference to extend or charging speed, however he touched on one aspect of the vehicle that is basically a gesture to Tesla — over-the-air software updates. Sony is a tech organization, and if it’s doing cars, it will do them the tech way, the Tesla way.

We’ll see what comes of this Sony Vision-S electric vehicle idea, however regardless of what befalls it, I figure we can say with conviction that electric vehicles have shown up. Also, it’s elevating to see a tech mammoth reveal an electric vehicle idea for the open instead of just secretly deal with it behind close doors for a considerable length of time before killing the thought.

  1. When I originally commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get three e-mails with the same comment. Is there any way you can remove people from that service? Thanks a lot!
